For example, by today's standards, in 1950, a farmer could earn over $300 per acre in profit. Today, that number averages $72. And in some years, it's negative.

So what's broken? The system that the farmers rely on the most. Their input system, which consists of seed, fertilizer, and "crop protection", has more than doubled in real terms, while the price farmers receive for their crops has plummeted. In addition, the inputs they rely on are designed to keep them using more and more every year in an attempt to make enough "yield" to make them profitable. Unfortunately, this leaves farmers in a vicious cycle: they continue to buy more expensive inputs to grow more, only to sell into a market that consistently returns less every year. The harder they work, the further behind they fall.

For the majority, government subsidies have become a lifeline—not a bonus, but a necessity for survival. Without them, most farms are struggling to survive. This is not dignified, and it's not sustainable for the long term. And I think you would agree, this is not the future we want for American agriculture.

What Is WEALTHY SOIL And Why Do We Focus On It?

Desiring to create wealth is not greedy, egotistical, or arrogant. Wealth is simply the combination of health and wellness and is the foundation for creating success on the farm and in life. As humans, we have full dominion over the health and well-being of the life inside the ground below our feet and every field we farm. Health

Health is a static state in which a living organism exists. Every living human, plant, animal, or any living creature exists in a current state of health. That health may be good, poor, or average. Regardless, every living creature has a static "health" state that can be measured and documented.

Wellness

Wellness refers to a series of choices and actions that a living organism makes to achieve and maintain healthy results and outcomes. Since the organisms in the soil can only function with the elements given to them by nature, AND the producer. Nature will take care of itself, leaving the producer (the one with dominion over all living creatures) to choose the right inputs for the right reasons, at the right times.

So, If Building Wealthy Soil Is The Answer, Where Do We Start?

Step #1 - Change the Mindset

✅ No single product that will get you where you want to go. The industry has designed the traditional synthetic products to work together. No single product implemented by itself will ever create wealthy soil. In fact, if the soil's biological environment is not functioning properly, most alternative inputs will not work! ✅ We need to stop the use of synthetic products in a systematized fashion. Stopping the use of the existing inputs cold turkey will not work for 99% of the producers.
